Becoming a Member


We know you’re eager to enjoy the benefits of becoming a TFCU member.  The first step is for you to verify you are eligible for membership. Click here to Verify eligibility

The next step is to join!  

For your convenience, we offer an Online Membership Application.  Additionally, you have the option to join by either bringing in or mailing the required documents to one of our branches.   We have listed instructions below.

Online Membership Application

Our online application process is simple and it takes less than 10 minutes. 

Once you have verified you are eligible for membership, please have the the following information available: 

  1. Your social security number
  2. A state issued Driver’s License, State or Military ID
  3. A credit or debit card or US checking or savings account to fund your new account. This is a minimum deposit required of $5.00 per member which will represent membership share in the Credit Union.

Stop in one of our Branches

First, click here to check our branch locations and hours. 

You will need to bring the following documents with you to open an account:
  • A driver's license, plus proof of eligibility.
  • A document showing a Social Security number such as a Social Security Card, a copy of a Social Security Card or a payroll stub.
  • Cash or a check for at least $5.00 to make your initial deposit ($10.00 for Joint accounts). This initial deposit represents your membership share in the credit union.

 

 

Application By Mail 

You will need the documents listed above and follow the steps below:

  1. Depending on the account you are opening you will need to Download our Member Service Agreement-Part1 OR (if a business) Download our Business Member Service Agreement-Part 1. Also available for review are our Member Service Agreement-Part 2 as well as our  Member Service Agreement for Business-Part 2.
  2. Complete the TFCU Member Service Agreement-Part 1 in full (or if a business complete the
    Business Member Service Agreement-Part 1 and have notarized. 
  3. Include a photocopy of your driver's license (or other official photo identification). Enclose a check in the amount of at least $5.00 ($10.00 for Joint accounts), which represents your membership share in the credit union.
  4. Mail the completed notarized Member Service Agreement and check to:

Once you've opened your account, we make it easy to switch your accounts from other financial institutions to TFCU with our Switch Kit.
